in the end a new song was born.

Center of this exhibtion was a songbook with lyrics, which were “written” the first day of workshop. The new verses were composed by using cut-up technique. Each participant introduced a selfchosen text. These were dissected and reassembled. In the three days thereafter, the graphic interpretation of the text lines took place. The new designs were based on the idea of camouflage. Goal was a maximum connection between the words and their environment. This task involved study of readability and a production of strong, concise and attractive forms with the means of typography.

The workshop took place at Captcha Design Festival in Mannheim, Germany in August 2017. The exhibition was shown in the Mannheimer Kunstverein August 25th to September 3rd.
